      Dear Ann:

Having you do the entire podcast would have been nice, also…you have a lovely speaking voice, (your diction is beautiful and makes me want to use sign language after listening to you because I have a tendency to speak very fast in the Philadelphia accent I’ve never quite managed to lose!) so no more apologies if Michael is away or otherwise occupied; you’d do just fine on your own!

Hearing the phone-in recommendations was fun, and I’ll be checking out those blogs.

By the way, because of your suggestions and a recent trip which included stops at the library AND Barnes & Noble, my nightstand is fast disappearing under a growing mountain of books — love it!

Aww, thanks, Bobbi. I truly appreciate your very kind words. And glad to know we’re contributing to your “nightbrary”, as we’ve taken to calling it on the goodreads group — because nightstand just isn’t large enough!

Re: Amy Rea and ‘Angle of Repose’: She must be my soul sister, because I, too, just reread that Stegner classic! I also live in Mpls., eat at the good burger cafes she recently blogged about, and am a knitter, as well as a big fan of BOTN and goodreads. The world keeps getting smaller! Great podcast as usual, Ann!

Julie, that’s so cool! You guys should arrange a meetup … Amy, meet Julie. Julie, meet Amy. And hey, if you really do and become BFFs, please let me know so I can take the credit! :)

Thanks so much for posting, Julie!

      Ann,

      Great number 12 Pod Cast!

      You are a superb ‘stand-alone’!

I’m sure that Michael will have his ‘turn in the barrel’ one of these days too and he’ll be stellar as well!

I am so looking forward to reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo from your rich descriptions….
      :-)

Another great podcast. Ann, you did great flying solo! I’ll second the recommendations of The Sparrow and The Mists of Avalon. I’ve read the Sparrow twice and Mists at least four times and listened to it on audio twice.

Susanne and Chris, thank you! I appreciate the vote of confidence. Let’s just say that I am very happy that Michael is back and we are back to our normal format.

Susanne, let me know what you think about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I haven’t yet read any “real people” reviews — just publishing people and booksellers, though they have all been raves.

Chris, glad you loved The Sparrow — it’s very close to my heart. And Mists of Avalon has only gotten 2 readings from me, but I am looking forward to the day that I can share it with my daughters.

I loved being able to call in to this podcast, reminded me of calling in to the local talk-radio show as a child :) What I love most about your website is it makes me love reading even more and helps me find books I have never heard of.

You have a wonderful radio voice!
