This Thursday through Saturday, Ann and I will be attending and working at the New England Independent Booksellers Association Trade Show in Boston. We’ll be surrounded by new books, just out or due out this fall and next spring. We’re not sure how often we’ll be able to get to a computer so we’re going to try something a little different. Using our cell phones and a web site called Utterli, we can take photos, pair them with a short write-up and post them to the blog. So, if we see a book or author we’re excited about, we’ll snap a pic and send it along. There are all sorts of things that can go wrong with this plan (like not being able to get a signal in a giant convention center), but we’ll give it a shot.
Because we’ll be sending these posts from our phones, we won’t be able to link – at the end of the post – to book info like we usually do. Maybe when we’re back we can add those into the posts or create a new post will all of the links. We’ll see.
p.s. If you’re coming to the show, stop by the Random House booth and say hi!
p.p.s. for those of you wondering how I did on my month-long graphic novel reading challenge: from August 15 through September 15 I read 31.5 books (I finished 9/15 having half of Persepolis 2 read). That’s almost a graphic novel a day. Almost. In any case, I’m back to reading prose, though there are still a few graphic novels I want to read. I’ll spread those out over the next few months.
