poems out loud

One more post for National Poetry Month, because these links are too good to pass up!

Poems Out Loud - A new site from W.W. Norton, inspired by Essential Pleasures, the book that Michele Filgate recommended in our poetry podcast. The site features Robert Pinsky reading a poem a day, with audio you can download or listen to right on the screen. Throughout the month, other poets will chime in with poems and their thoughts on poetry.

The Favorite Poem Project – Americans talk about and read their favorite poems on video. There’s a wonderful range of people featured on the site and I enjoyed hearing a little about their background and why they love poem they chose.

The FSG Poetry Ringtone – A funny poem for all of us whose phone or blackberry is permanently affixed to our hands, and it’s available as a ringtone for your phone:

No talk, no text, no tweet –
Next time, let’s meet!

And don’t forget Knopf’s Poem-A-Day email newsletter… I’ve really been enjoying getting it!
