I loved The Story of Edgar Sawtell and I don’t think that I would have come across it had you not talked about it on your show. Happy 50th Podcast to you!

Aw nuts. I’ve gotten a little behind since you went weekly (and also because I am a compulsive podcast subscriber.) I have read the following books all recommended by BOTNS: Fragment, Big Machine, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Panic in Level Four and The Road. Maybe the last one doesn’t count since it was for book club. I also bought Beowulf on the Beach as a result of your plugging-and I’m happy with it. I actually did not like The Road (which is a love it or hate it book if I’ve ever seen one) but Girl with Dragon was one of the best books I read all year. Or maybe THE best all year. I still have 2 months to decide : )

Happy 50th Podcast! I meant to phone in but forgot. Thank you for all the wonderful books you’ve introduced me too.

Especially The Girl with the Dragon tattoo, which I haven’t actually read, but which was my husband’s favourite birthday present this year. He is currently devouring The girl who kicked the Hornet’s nest. It’s nice to see him reading something un-work related!

I’m currently reading The Magicians – thanks for that recommendation too!
