It’s a book! And you can buy it!

(yep, this is a commercial, but you may find it interesting)

We asked the authors and guests of the first ever Books on the Nightstand Weekend Retreat to recommend two books they can’t wait for us to read — new, old, in print or out of print, it didn’t matter.

Michael used his graphic design skills to create an amazing book that will be printed on demand on the Espresso Book Machine at The Northshire Bookstore.

I spent about 1/2 an hour with the book when the proof copy came off press, and another 1/2 hour last night. It’s simply wonderful! On almost every page was a book that I added to my reading list.

Each of the 65 participants has a full page for their two recommendations and the reason why they love the book. The authors include Chris Bohjalian, Jon Clinch, Wendy Clinch, Matthew Dicks, Susan Gregg Gilmore, Elizabeth Stuckey-French, Steve Himmer, Ellen Meeropol, and John Milliken Thompson. There’s a checklist of all books at the back.

You can order the book for $12 plus shipping on Northshire’s website. It’s 110 pages.
(Michael and I do get a small part of the purchase price which will offset costs for the retreat and blog/podcast hosting).

It’s my hope that this is so successful that we can do this again in the future, and that all of you will participate as well!

Hmmm … yours is the second request we’ve gotten, so we’ll look into it
once the retreat is over. I have no idea where to start or how much it would
cost, but we’ll do the research. Thanks!

I’m also in favor of an ebook or pdf to purchase; so convenient to carry on my portable device! Please try to do this! Thanks—I’m a big fan of your podcast!

I’d love to have an ebook or a PDF too. It’s so much more convenient.

I would love to see this ebook format too. Yes, I’m a Kindle addict :) Seriously, though I’m about to move and I’m pruning my physical book stash. This is a fabulous idea!
