The BOTNS retreat was a huge success and we take a few minutes to thank everyone who made it possible. Then we share the first two authors who spoke at the Celebration of Authors event on Saturday.

Ann and I are back from the retreat and, though we are exhausted, we’re still flying high from the sheer fun of the whole weekend! Sincere thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible: our 9 wonderful authors, Northshire Bookstore, Other Press, Permanence Matters by Glatfelter, The Inn at Manchester, The Palmer House and The Reluctant Panther Inn.

The Saturday Celebration of Authors was a wonderful evening and the talks given by the authors were interesting, informative and funny. Rather than overwhelm you with the entire event, which ran nearly 2 hours, we’re going to break it up across several episodes. This time around we hear from:

Jon Clinch, author of

and

Elizabeth Stuckey-French, author of

A BIG GIANT thank you to Michael and Ann for organizing this fantastic event. It is a testament to you that so many people came and that we all had such a wonderful time. I’m so grateful that I was invited. I met so many lovely people that my head is still spinning. Manchester was so much fun, and Northshire books–well, I could live in there. Here’s to the second annual BOTNS reatreat!

Woo Woo! I just hit the jackpot! Both of Jon Clinch’s books and The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady are available through my library system and on their way to me! Would loved to have attended the event, but thank you for your podcasts and your recommendations. An Oklahoma Listener — Annie Joy

Listening to what Ann and Michael were saying about how great the group was at the retreat reminded me: on Sunday afternoon I was lingering for a few hours and overheard two employees at the Northshire cafe talking about the retreaters. They were saying that they’d had several compliments on their food, which they were happy about, and that the whole group was incredibly friendly and pleasant. How nice to have left such a good impression on the store!

If it weren’t for the pesky little matter of my 20th high school reunion being held simultaneously down in MS, I would have loved to be there! Glad it was such a success and maybe I can join up with the fun next time ’round.
