Recorded live at the Books on the Nightstand retreat, we are proud to present John Milliken Thompson, author of The Reservoir, and Wendy Clinch, author of The SkiDiva Mysteries.

The Reservoir Fade to Black

We are so glad that you are enjoying our periodic podcasts of the author talks from the Books on the Nightstand retreat. This week, we are thrilled to introduce you to two more authors.

John Milliken Thompson, whose first novel, The Reservoir, will be published on June 21st.  Based on a true crime that happened in Richmond, Virginia in the 1890s, it’s a page-turning historical mystery that you will find hard to put down.

Wendy Clinch is the author of Double Black and Fade to White, which she dubs The SkiDiva Mysteries. Though the mysteries are set in a Vermont ski town, you don’t have to know your downhill from your slalom to enjoy them.

A couple of housekeeping notes: A small group of BOTNS listeners from New England will be embarking on a professionally-led literary walking tour of Boston on May 21st. To find out more, please check out the thread in the BOTNS Goodreads Group.

Also, I forgot to mention this in the podcast, but I wanted to give you a reminder about May’s live online book chat. We will be discussing Finn by Jon Clinch on Monday, May 16th at 8pm EST. Stay tuned for a separate post with the dial-in info.

Ooh, I think I screwed up the editing during my intro — so sorry if it’s annoying! Since I only speak for about a minute and a half, I hope you’ll put up with it and forgive me!

Hi Anne, just wanted to let you know I am still following the War and Peace read along. But every time I finish a section of the book and go to post, I have to re-register to log in – I’ve had enough of that and hope you will do an update or two through this podcast since this seems to be an easier and more accessible format.

    Hi Cathy,
Sorry you are having trouble with the wiki — not sure what’s happening. I
haven’t had that problem, and haven’t heard about it from other people, but
maybe it is happening and nobody has told me. I’m glad you’re still
reading, though — I am *woefully* behind but will catch up soon.

    Thanks,
    Ann

Good pick for your May book club. I read that one awhile back for my own book club.
