Note: Russ Kick's presentation at the Celebration of Authors at Booktopia Oxford, though wonderful, was too visually-based to effectively reproduce here. But don't let that stop you from picking up his wonderful Graphic Canon, volume 2 of which was just released!

Ann and I are thrilled to have been invited to be part of the Random House Open House, taking place on November 2 at the Random House offices in NYC. We will be discussing our favorite books to give as gifts this holiday season. Tickets are on sale now, and space is limited!

Michael Parker is the author of five novels including his most recent, The Watery Part of the World. In addition to discussing why he writes so often from a female perspective, Michael read a scene featuring a pivotal meeting between two characters.

Susan Gregg Gilmore has written two novels, Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen and The Improper Life of Bezellia Grove, and 2013 will see the release of The Funeral Dress. As usual, Susan had the audience in stitches and we thank her for filling in for our ailing authors.
